Sneh Public School

Our school is located on Excise Colony Road in Kala Amb. This is an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving around and a lot of noise from the nearby factories. We are tucked away in a slightly quieter corner of the colony. The building is a plain concrete structure that gets quite dusty because of all the activity in town. We have a person who cleans the benches every morning, but the dust always comes back by the afternoon. We have students from the families who live and work right here in Sirmaur. The classrooms are very basic with just a blackboard and some wooden desks. We don't have any smart boards or modern technology. We focus on the textbooks and the lessons. The office is a small, cluttered room where we keep the attendance registers and the fee books. Everything is done by hand. We don't have a big library, just a couple of shelves with some old books. During the breaks, the children eat their lunch in the small yard we have out front. It is not a fancy place and we don't make big promises. We have been here a long time and people in the colony know us. We just show up every day, open the gates, and get to work teaching the children. It is a very simple and practical school for the local community.
