Sangrah Sirmour Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are a group of farmers located in Kuffrari, house number 1322, down in the Sirmour district. It started because a few of us realized we could do more if we put our heads together instead of competing. Sirmour is a rugged and tough place, and farming here isn't for people who like to sit around and wait for things to happen. We deal with everything ourselves, from the soil prep to the final selling at the market. Our setup is pretty basic, just a spot in the village where we can keep the shared tools and the record books. It’s definitely not a corporate office with air conditioning or fancy chairs, that’s for sure. Usually, it’s just a couple of us sitting around a small table trying to figure out the best way to get our crops to the bigger markets in the city. We have a lot of different crops depending on which farmers are involved in the group this year. Sometimes it’s hard to get everyone on the same page during the meetings, but we make it work because we have to survive. My brother-in-law helps with the bookkeeping when he’s not busy with his own fields, though he's always complaining about the math. We don't use big fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow things and try to sell them for a fair price that keeps us going. We’re just local folks from Sirmour trying to make the most of the land we have.
