Pinaki Peeth Foundation

Our foundation is tucked away in Village Kyarta Joggar, which is near Dadahu. You have to go through Jarag to get here. We operate from Mahimanand’s place. It’s a very quiet village and we like the peace it gives us. We aren't a large organization with a lot of staff or big budgets. It’s mostly just us and a few neighbors from the village. We focus on local things that need doing. Life up here in the hills is different from the city. You have to rely on each other more. We don't have a fancy office or a board of directors. Our meetings usually happen over a cup of tea in the courtyard. We don't follow a corporate handbook. We just look at what’s happening in our community and try to help out. Sometimes it's helping someone with paperwork, other times it's just being a place for people to gather and talk. We’ve been here for quite a while now. We don't really care about being famous or getting a lot of attention. We just want to do right by our neighbors. The air is fresh and the mountains are all around us, so it’s a good place to work. People in Kyarta Jog know Mahimanand, so they know where we are. It’s a simple, local setup. We don't use big words to explain our work. We just do it day by day and hope it helps someone in our small village area.
