DEVBHUMI GLASS PRIVATE LIMITED

In the village of Thana Khurd, over in the Bihru Kalan part of Una, we run Devbhumi Glass. Our workshop is located at Khasra No. 514 in Ward No. 2. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s where we have the space to keep the glass sheets. Dealing with glass is a tricky business; you have to be careful every time you move a crate or cut a piece to size. The edges are sharp and the material is heavy, so we spend a lot of our time just watching our hands and making sure everything is stacked properly. The sun comes through the windows and hits the glass stacks, making the whole place light up in the afternoons. We aren't a big city firm. We are just local folks working in a shed-like building, keeping track of orders in a dusty notebook. Most people in the village know us by now. We handle the glass for windows and whatever else the local builders are working on. There isn't much to say about our office—it's just a couple of chairs and a table where we drink tea and talk to customers who drop by. We just try to keep the breakage down and get the orders out to Mandli and the other nearby places. It's a steady life, focused on the glass and the simple rhythm of the workday in Una. We just keep our heads down and work.
