Shree Sai Ram Textiles

Shree Sai Ram Textiles is based at Plot No. 1 in the Textilepark in Baddenapally, Sircilla. Being in a textile park means we are surrounded by the sound of looms and the smell of fabric all day long. It is a very specific kind of environment to work in. Our shed is filled with rows of machines and tall stacks of thread in every color you can think of. It gets quite loud when everything is running at once, so we have to shout a bit to be heard. Sircilla is known for this kind of work, and we are just one small part of that tradition. We have a group of weavers and workers who have been doing this since they were young. They have a real feel for the cloth. The air is always a bit dusty with lint, so we keep the big doors open for some breeze. Our office is just a tiny room in the corner with a computer that barely works half the time and a stack of invoices. We don't spend much time in there anyway. Most of the day is spent on the floor checking the tension on the threads and making sure no mistakes are being made in the weave. It’s hard work on the eyes and the back, but seeing the finished rolls of cloth makes it worth the effort. We usually wrap things up as the sun goes down.
