We are located right by the Diara Railway Station in the Hooghly district. Being so close to the station means we hear the trains coming and going all day. It’s a constant sound of whistles and tracks clicking. The station is the heartbeat of this area, and we are just a few steps away. We do commerce work here, which mostly means we are busy with numbers and logistics. Our building is nothing special to look at. It has been there for years and has survived many monsoons. Inside, it smells a bit like old paper and tea. We have a small team of local people who know the area well. It is a practical spot because we can get around easily using the trains. Many times, we just walk over to the platform to meet people. Life in Hooghly moves a bit slower than the big cities, but we keep our own pace. We don't have any shiny furniture or high-tech gadgets everywhere. We use what works and keep things moving. Most days are spent checking lists and making sure the orders are correct. It can be repetitive, but it is how we make a living. We appreciate the people who stop by and the quiet moments between the train schedules. Sometimes the platform gets so full of people that we can barely hear ourselves talk, but that’s just part of being at Diara Station. We have a few old wooden benches for when guests come over, and the overhead fan makes a bit of a clicking sound that we have just gotten used to. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it yet. We are more focused on the work at hand and making sure the orders are ready for whoever is picking them up. Hooghly is a good place to be for this kind of work. We aren't looking for anything too grand, just a steady business that helps the local economy in its own small way.
