Yashoda Orthopedic Hospital

Sitting right on the Mumbai Goa highway in Sawantwadi, this hospital stays pretty busy with all the traffic passing through. Being on such a major road means we deal with a lot of orthopedic cases and bone injuries that happen nearby. The building itself is easy to spot when you are driving into Sawantwadi. Inside, things are kept simple and practical. We have the X-ray rooms and the wards set up so people can get in and out without too much trouble. It’s a lot of hard work keeping up with the patients coming in from the surrounding villages and the highway. The doctors here spend most of their time in the operation theater or checking on how people are healing. It isn't a quiet place during the day because of the trucks and cars outside, but it calms down a bit at night. Our staff lives locally, so they know the area well. We don't have much for decorations on the walls, just the stuff needed for medical work. Families often sit outside in the shade while waiting for their relatives to finish their appointments. It’s a straightforward setup for fixing broken legs or backs. We just focus on the patients and getting them back on their feet so they can head home to their families soon. The road is always loud but we don't mind it much because it keeps us busy.
