Tropicakokan Foods Private Limited is located way out in the village of Dahibav in the Deogad Taluka. Our place is House Number 589 in the Brahamanwadi area. If you know anything about Sindhudurg, you know it is a beautiful place but it is quite far from the big city rush. We are surrounded by greenery and the air is much cleaner than what you find in Mumbai. The house we work from is a traditional style building that has been around for a while. We process local foods here, focusing on what grows in the region. Most of the people who work with us are from the village itself. We don't have fancy machinery; it is mostly manual work that requires a lot of patience. The monsoon season is really heavy here, and sometimes the roads get a bit tricky to travel on. During the summers, the heat is dry and the mango trees are everywhere. We spend our days sorting through produce and making sure everything is packed correctly. It is a quiet life compared to the city, but there is always something to do on the property. We eat our lunch together under the shade when it is too hot to stay in the sheds. It is just a small local operation trying to make the most of what the land gives us in this part of the Konkan coast.
