The Tree House

The Tree House is located on the ground floor of Shri Sharda Mandir in Sawantwadi. It is a nice little spot for a preschool. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for the parents to drop their kids off without having to worry about stairs. We have a few rooms that we have set up with small chairs and tables. There are mats on the floor for when the kids want to sit and play with blocks. Sawantwadi is a beautiful place, especially during the monsoon, though the rain can make the floors a bit muddy if we aren't careful. We spend our mornings getting the snacks ready and making sure the toys are clean. It’s a very local feel here; we know most of the parents by their first names. Our staff are mostly local women who have been with us for a while. We don't have any big corporate offices or anything like that. It’s just a simple school where kids learn their ABCs and play together. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with all the crayons and paper, but we tidy up at the end of every day. We have a small space outside the building where the kids can get some fresh air. The building itself is well-known in the area, so people find us easily. We just try to provide a steady place for the children while their parents are busy with their own work.
