Marathi Vidya Mandir Donewadi

Marathi Vidya Mandir Donewadi is situated right on the Gadhinglaj Chandgad Road. Being in Kolhapur, we are surrounded by a lot of greenery and open spaces. This is a Marathi medium school, and most of our students come from the local village area of Donewadi. It is a very humble establishment. We have a few classrooms and a small area for the children to play. The building is old but we try to keep it in good shape. Life here moves a bit slower than in the big cities. We start our day with a simple prayer and then get straight into the lessons. The teachers here often know the parents personally because we all live in the same small community. We don't have computers in every room or a big library, but we make do with what we have. On festival days, the school feels very festive with some simple decorations made by the kids. We focus on the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. The sound of the surrounding countryside is always there in the background while we work. It’s a quiet, practical place for the local children to get their schooling. We aren't looking for any awards; we just want to make sure the kids in Donewadi have a place to learn their mother tongue and get a decent start in life. It’s just a normal village school doing its best for everyone involved.
