Kokan Sindhu Multifruit Cluster Foundation

Our foundation is tucked away in Mangaon, which is in the Kudal taluka of the Sindhudurg district. We work out of the Dr Babasaheb Lele Smarak Samiti. It’s a quiet area, surrounded by a lot of greenery and fruit trees, which is fitting since we focus on the Kokan Sindhu Multifruit Cluster. The office isn't anything fancy. It’s a solid building with basic furniture and some old ceiling fans. We spend most of our time dealing with local fruit growers and farmers. You’ll often see baskets of mangoes or other seasonal fruits sitting in the corner of the room. We aren't here to look important. We are here to help the local fruit business. The air in Sindhudurg is fresh, and it’s a nice change from the big cities. We have maps of the local orchards pinned to the walls and lots of registers to keep track of everything. The staff here is mostly local people who know the land well. We drink a lot of tea and talk about things like crop cycles and market prices. It’s practical work. We don't have a website that’s updated every day or a social media team. We just talk to the farmers face-to-face. If you come to Mangaon looking for us, just ask for the Lele Smarak Samiti.
