Our college has a very long name, but most people just know it as the college in Katta. We are part of the Katta Panchkroshi Shikshan Prasarak Mandas, located in the Malvan taluk of Sindhudurg. It’s a beautiful part of Maharashtra, especially when the rains start and everything turns bright green. We handle arts and commerce classes mostly. The building is tucked away in the village of Katta, so it’s not like those big city campuses. It feels more like being in a rural neighborhood. There are coconut and mango trees around, which is typical for the Konkan region. The pace of life here is very slow. Students come from the surrounding villages, often traveling a bit by bus or rickshaw to get to us. The college itself is a modest structure. It doesn't have air conditioning or anything high-end, just open windows to let the breeze in. Sometimes the birds outside are louder than the teachers. We have a small staff, and everyone knows everyone else’s business. It’s a tight-knit place. The office is usually busy with people from the village coming in for one thing or another. We focus on the basics of commerce and arts without any of the extra fluff. It's a quiet, honest place to study, and the salt air from the coast isn't too far away if you go towards Malvan for a visit.
