Our spot is over at Ashtachavanwadigr, right at number 1040/1 in Walwa. You have to ask for Amol Rajan Patil’s place to find us. Hoy Amhi Shetkari Foundation is basically run by people who know what it’s like to work the land. We aren't sitting in some air-conditioned office in a city. We are right here in the village where the actual work happens. Most of us grew up around here, seeing the struggles farmers face every day. We don't use big words or have complicated corporate rules. We just talk like normal people because that’s who we are. Some days we are out in the fields, and other days we are sitting on the porch talking about the market prices. It’s a simple life but the work we do for the farmers is important to us. We try to help out with bits of advice or just being a place where people can gather. The foundation isn't about making money. It’s about the community in Tal-Walwa. We have some papers and books scattered around, mostly about soil and water. If you walk by, you’ll probably see a couple of us drinking tea and looking at some maps. We don't have a receptionist, so you just come in and say hello. It’s how things are done around here, and it works for us and the neighbors.
