About Shital Textiles – Fashion & Trends in Silvassa
We are out here at Plot No. 16 in Masat. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't used to the industrial areas. Shital Textiles is basically just a big workspace where the machines do most of the talking. It’s loud from the moment we turn the power on in the morning until we close up at night. The floor is concrete and there’s always a bit of lint floating in the air. We don't have a lot of visitors out here, mostly just the trucks coming to pick up rolls of cloth. It’s a practical setup. We have a small area for the staff to sit and eat their tiffins during the break. There isn't much to see besides the production line. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet for a bit, which is actually a nice change. We just wait it out and then get back to it. Being in Masat means we are surrounded by other similar places, so there’s always that smell of grease and industrial work in the air. We don’t bother with decorations or anything like that. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but work comes first. It’s just a steady routine of checking the looms and making sure the threads aren't snapping. It’s honest work and we just keep our heads down and do it.
