Padmavati Plastofilm Industries

Out here in Dadra, at the Sanjay Industrial Area, things are always moving. We are on the ground floor of Building B-2, specifically in Galas 2 and 3. Being an industrial area, it’s noisy and there’s always a bit of a smell of heated plastic in the air. That’s just the nature of making plastofilm. The machines are pretty big and they take up most of the space on the floor. I spend my time between the machines and the small office we have set up in the corner. It’s usually pretty hot, especially during the summer months, and the fans don't do much more than move the warm air around. We get a lot of trucks coming in through Post-Vaghdhara to pick up the rolls of film we produce. It’s hard work, and we are usually pretty tired by the end of the shift. We aren't a big company with a HR department and fancy perks; we are just a group of people making sure the production line stays running. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to pitch in to get it fixed. It’s a messy job, and your clothes usually end up with some grease on them. But we’ve been doing this at Survey No. 57/2 for a while now, and we know the business inside and out. It’s just honest work for all of us.
