This location for Hindustan Unilever Ltd. is at Srv No. 907 on Kilwani Road. We’re situated right near the Gandhigram Bus Stop, which means there is a lot of foot traffic and noise all day long. You can hear the conductors shouting and the engines idling from inside our gate. The plot is fairly large, and we use most of it for storage and moving goods. It’s a functional place, not built for looks but for getting things from one place to another. We have a lot of trucks coming in at odd hours, so there’s always someone at the gate checking papers. The office is just a plain room with some old desks and a computer that’s a bit slow. We spend most of our time out on the floor anyway, making sure the stacks are right. It gets dusty, and the humidity can be a bit much, but we’re used to it. Most of the people working here have been on the Kilwani Road site for years. We know the local tea seller and the guys at the bus stop. It’s a bit of a community in its own way. We don't go for any of that corporate polish here. We just focus on the boxes and the schedules, making sure the work gets done before we head home for the day. That is the daily life at Srv No. 907.
