Vk Bajaj & Sons

Getting up to the fifth floor of Sani Tower is how our morning usually starts. We are located at Flat No. 5 B, right on Savoke Road. It's one of the busiest spots in Darjeeling, so there’s always something happening outside the window. Vk Bajaj & Sons has been a family thing for a good bit of time. My sons and I spend most of our day here among the paperwork and the phone calls. The lift in this building can be a little moody sometimes, so we’ve all gotten used to the stairs when we have to. It’s a decent view from up here though. You can see the traffic crawling along Savoke Road and the weather changing over the hills. We don't have a big reception area with fancy coffee; it’s mostly just desks and us working. People come by when they need something sorted out. Being in a tower block means you get to know the other business owners on the different floors. We’ve been in this district for years, and we’re not planning on going anywhere. It’s a practical space for what we do. Nothing too flashy, just a solid place to get the work finished before heading home. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the city sounds drifting up, but you get used to it after the first week or so. It is just a normal office for a family business.
