The Preface

We’ve been here at Hyder Para for a while now. Most people know the spot near Hari Pal More. It’s just how things are around here in the Jalpaiguri district. It gets pretty busy during the day when the traffic picks up. We mostly just focus on what needs doing at The Preface. Usually, someone is always around if you drop by. The building is easy to find if you’re coming from the main road. Sometimes it’s a bit noisy with the vehicles passing, but we are used to that. We handle the usual stuff people need when they come through the door. It isn't a huge place, just a local setup. We try to keep things moving along. Sometimes things get a bit backed up, but that’s just how work goes on a Tuesday morning. We’ve seen the area change over the years. Some shops closed, others opened up near us. We stay put. There is a tea stall nearby where we go sometimes. The weather gets quite rainy during the monsoon here in the district, which slows things down, but we keep the lights on. If you are walking down from the crossing, you can’t really miss us. We don’t have any big signs or anything flashy. Just a regular place where work gets done. Most of our neighbors are okay. It’s a quiet enough part of town when the sun goes down. We just open up in the morning and see who comes in. That is basically the story here.
