Our shop is on Burdwan Road in Shaktigarh, and it’s quite easy to spot if you know where Gourya Math is. We are right near there. Being in the Siliguri Bazar area means there is always something going on outside. We deal mostly with paints and all the things you need to get a wall finished. The smell of fresh paint is something you just get used to after a few hours. We have the mixing machine sitting in the corner, and it makes a specific humming sound that we hear all day long. The shelves are full of cans in every size. Some days it’s quiet and we just organize the brushes, but other days everyone seems to want the same shade of white at once. We are part of the NJP police station jurisdiction, though things are usually peaceful around here. It’s a local business, so we know many of the people who walk in. The light inside the shop is a bit dim towards the back, but we know exactly where the sandpaper and rollers are kept. We don't really do much besides focus on the stock and the customers. It’s a practical place for anyone in Jalpaiguri district who is looking to spruce up their home or handle a small renovation project. We stay open until the market starts to wind down for the night.
