Sri Satpal Singh & Co.

We’re located in Birpara, which is in the Binnaguri area of Jalpaiguri. It’s a place where you see a lot of trucks and people moving through toward the hills. Sri Satpal Singh & Co. has been part of this landscape for a good while. The office is just a simple room with some chairs and a heavy wooden table where we do all our planning. Outside, there’s usually a bit of a mess with vehicles or materials depending on what project we are currently on. The weather here can be quite unpredictable, with heavy rains that sometimes force us to stop everything for a few days. We don't have a polished corporate image; we just wear our work clothes and get into the thick of it. Most of our connections are with people we've known for years in the Jalpaiguri district. It’s a lot of talking to drivers, checking on supplies, and making sure the guys know what they’re supposed to be doing. The air feels a bit different here, being closer to the mountains, but the work is still the same kind of hard labor you find anywhere else. We just take things one day at a time, making sure the contracts are moving forward and the bills are getting paid. It’s a practical life, nothing too complicated for us.
