Our office is over in the Sharda Complex on Sevoke Road. If you’ve been to Siliguri, you know how hectic Sevoke Road can get with all the traffic and people moving around at all hours. It’s a lively and noisy spot to be in. We’re up in the complex, away from the worst of the dust, but you can still feel the energy of the city below. We handle the rice mill operations from this office. It’s a lot of phone calls and keeping track of what’s happening at the mill site further out. The office has some big windows, but they get a bit dirty from the city air and the rain. We don’t have a lot of decorations, just some calendars on the wall and stacks of files on the desks. It’s a very practical space for us. We’ve got a small team, and we all know each other’s business pretty well. We usually have our lunch together right at our desks while we talk. It’s not like those fancy corporate offices you see in magazines. It’s just a place where we come to work. Sometimes the internet is slow and we get a bit frustrated, but we manage to get things done anyway. We’ve been in Siliguri for a long time and we like the location because it’s easy for people to find us. We don’t use big words or try to impress anyone. We just keep the business moving.
