Our place is on Sevoke Road in Siliguri, right in that busy stretch. If you know Siliguri, you know how Sevoke Road can get with all the traffic and people moving about. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite some time now. The building is standard for this part of West Bengal, with the rain sometimes drumming really loud on the roof during the monsoon season. Inside, it’s mostly just work tables and stacks of inventory. We keep it simple. There are about six of us who handle the daily tasks. We don't have any big slogans or shiny brochures. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people just stopping by because they saw our sign while stuck in traffic. We make sure the orders are packed and sent out, though sometimes the local transport takes longer than we’d like. That’s just life here. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to keep going. The humidity can be a bit much in the summer, making the workshop feel a bit heavy, but we just open the windows and keep at it. It’s a local business through and through. We know the other shop owners on the street and we help each other out when someone needs a tool or a hand with something heavy. It’s a decent way to spend the day, right here in the heart of Siliguri. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
