S Nandi

College Para is a good place to be located in Siliguri. It has got that specific energy because of all the students and the schools located nearby. My space here at S Nandi is pretty modest. I have got a few chairs and a table where I do most of my business throughout the week. It is not a place with big posters or shiny floors or anything like that. I mostly just focus on the task at hand and get through the paperwork. Some mornings I get here early before the streets get too crowded with people heading to the colleges. The air is a bit fresher then. By midday, it is a completely different story with all the noise and the bikes. I have been here for years, so I know most of the people who run the stationery shops around here. We talk about the weather or the local news while we wait for the day to pick up. I don't spend any money on advertising because I think if you do a decent job, people will find you eventually. My door is usually kept open, though I might step out for lunch at the nearby food stalls for a bit. It is a very local way of doing things. I keep my files organized, or at least I try my best to, though sometimes they pile up on the corners. It is just how it is when you are working on your own.
