Gupta House Of Spices

Our place is in Shastri Nagar, Ward 31, not too far from the Iskon Mandir Road. If you walk past, you can usually smell the spices before you see the door. We handle a lot of different things like turmeric, chili, and cumin. It’s a small operation, mostly family and a few helpers. We spend our days sorting through bags and making sure everything is clean. Jalpaiguri is a good place for this kind of work. The shop is often crowded with sacks, and there’s always a fine dust in the air that makes you sneeze if you aren’t used to it. We try to keep things simple. Customers come in for a few grams or a few kilos, depending on what they’re cooking. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the shop here near the temple. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to move things, but we manage. My father started this, and we just keep it going the same way. We know our regulars and what they like. It’s about being consistent. People trust us because we’ve been here in Shastri Nagar for years. We just focus on the spices and let the work speak for itself. It’s a noisy, fragrant, busy little spot. We keep the counters wiped down and the scales ready. It’s just what we do every day without much fuss.
