Baba Lokenath Nursery

We’re located over in South Colony. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the noise of the main city roads. Baba Lokenath Nursery is basically just a lot of plants and clay pots sitting out in the sun. We spend most of our early mornings watering everything before the heat gets too bad. My boots are usually covered in mud by ten o'clock every single day. We have all sorts of stuff, from small flowering plants to those bigger shrubs people like for their fences. It’s not a perfectly managed garden; it’s a working nursery. Things are a bit cluttered. We have rows of plastic bags with saplings and piles of compost sitting in the corner. People from the colony often come by looking for something to put on their balcony or in their small front yard. We don't have a computer or any fancy billing system. We just write everything down in a weathered notebook we keep on the bench. Sometimes the local stray dogs come in to find some shade under our wooden benches. We don't mind them at all. It’s a peaceful way to spend the day, even if the work is hard on the back and knees. The seasons dictate exactly what we do. When it rains, we’re busy moving things so they don't get ruined. When it’s dry, we’re constantly hauling long hoses around. We just grow things and hope they do well.
