Our office is right on the ground floor here in Siliguri, specifically on S.P. Mukherjee Road in the Khalpara area. We decided to stay on the ground floor because it’s just easier for everyone to walk in, especially when the weather gets a bit messy outside. Being right across from Arogya Niketan Nursing Home makes us pretty easy to find if you are familiar with the neighborhood. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside the window. We spend our days here dealing with all sorts of accounting and tax stuff that comes our way. The office isn’t anything too special to look at, just desks, a few chairs for visitors, and plenty of cabinets for all the files we have to keep track of. It gets a bit hectic during the tax season, with everyone rushing to get things sorted out, but we just take it one day at a time. Sometimes we stay late when the work piles up, and the tea from the shop around the corner keeps us going. It’s just how things are here, I guess. We aren't trying to be some big corporate firm; we are just local people working in Khalpara and trying to help out our neighbors with their records. It feels good to be part of the community here in Siliguri for so long. Most days are just about checking numbers and talking to people who drop by for a few minutes.
