Baba Traders

Our place, Baba Traders, is located right on Nehru Road in Darjeeling. If you know where Sagar Restaurant is, we are just a short walk from there. The air is always a bit cooler up here in the hills. We get a mix of locals and tourists stopping by throughout the day. The mist often rolls in and covers the street, which makes it feel a bit quiet even when it’s busy. We’ve been at this location for quite a long time now. It’s a small shop, but it serves its purpose. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open up and wait for people to come in. The walk up the road can be a bit steep for some, but it’s a nice area. Most of the other shopkeepers around here are friends of ours. We often share a pot of tea when the weather turns cold. It’s not a fast-paced environment like the plains. We take our time with things and talk to the people who visit us. The building is old and has a lot of character, much like the rest of Darjeeling. We handle our own stock and keep things simple. Sometimes the roads get blocked during the heavy rains, but we usually stay open. It’s a good spot to be in, and we like being near the landmark restaurant. It’s just a small hill-town business doing its thing every day.
