Satyam

Being right opposite the Civil Hospital on Hospital Road means there is always something going on. Satyam is located in Ward Number 10 and we have been here for quite some time. The road is constantly full of ambulances and people walking back and forth. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We open up the shutters pretty early because the hospital starts getting busy at dawn. Our shop is small and a bit cramped with all the things we try to keep in stock. We don't have a lot of space to move around. Usually, there’s a bit of a wait if more than two people come in at once. The floor is just plain concrete and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We keep a small radio in the back for some background noise when the street gets too quiet, which isn't often. The smell of the hospital and the medicine is something you just get used to after a week of working here. My friend Satish stops by sometimes to help me when I have to go out for a bit. We don't really have a big staff or anything. It's just us taking care of the customers who come through the door. Sometimes the rain floods the road a little bit and we have to put some sandbags out to keep the water from coming in.
