Emmanuel Rural Hospital

Emmanuel Rural Hospital is out here in Pailapool, which is part of the Cachar district. It is a quiet place most of the time, surrounded by a lot of greenery and open space. Being a rural hospital means things are a bit different than in the big cities. We don't have fancy glass buildings or elevators that talk. It is just a practical building where people come when they are feeling unwell. Most of the folks who work here live just a short walk or bike ride away. We see everything from kids with fevers to older people needing their regular checkups. Sometimes the roads get a bit rough during the rainy season, which makes it harder for people to get to us, but we stay open. The waiting area has simple wooden benches and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon. We don't spend much time on decorations because there is always something to fix or a patient to see. Life moves at a slower pace in this part of Cachar, and the hospital reflects that. We know the families around here, and they know us. It is just about getting the work done and helping whoever walks through the door. Pailapool isn't a big place, so word travels fast if someone is sick. We just keep the lights on and the doors open for the community.
