Pandit Deen Dayal Inter College

Pandit Deen Dayal Inter College is located right in Ward No 19, over in Shastri Nagar. We are right in the heart of Maharajganj. The school has been part of this community for a long time. It’s a typical inter college building, sturdy and functional. We have a lot of students coming in from the nearby villages and the town itself. The mornings are always a bit of a rush with bicycles lining up near the entrance. We don’t have air conditioning or anything like that; we rely on big windows and ceiling fans. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just open the doors wider. The teachers here are mostly locals who understand the challenges the kids face. We focus on the state board exams and making sure everyone gets their paperwork done on time. The playground is mostly dirt, but it’s large enough for a good game of kabaddi or cricket. During the winters, we often sit out in the sun during the breaks. It’s an honest place. We don't have a lot of extra funds for decorations, so the walls are mostly plain or have some charts made by the students. It feels like home to many of us. We know most of the parents by name because we see them at the market or around the neighborhood. It's been that way for years and we just keep doing our work every day.
