About Shekhawati Repairing Centre – Metals & Minerals in Sikar
Our shop is on Minakshi Road, inside Maruti Market. It’s very close to the railway station, so there’s always noise from the trains and people rushing back and forth. Shekhawati Repairing Centre isn’t a place with marble floors or air conditioning that always works. It’s a small room filled with tools, spare parts, and whatever people bring in to get fixed. We’ve got benches piled high with things we’re working on. Most days we are covered in a bit of dust or oil. People come to us when something breaks and they don’t want to buy a new one. We take things apart, see what’s wrong, and try to put them back together so they work again. It’s a lot of fiddling with small screws and wires. Sometimes it’s frustrating when we can’t find a specific part, but we usually figure it out. We don’t have a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll just see us working. We might be a bit slow to look up if we’re in the middle of something tricky. The market is always crowded, and the station being so near means it stays busy until late. We just stay at our bench and do the repairs as they come in. There’s no big secret to it, just a lot of patience and some old tools we've had for years. It's a living and we're used to the noise.
