Shekhawati International Academy

Out here in Losal, Sikar, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Shekhawati International Academy is located right here in the heart of the community. We get a lot of students from the surrounding villages who travel quite a distance every morning. The academy building is a sturdy one, built to handle the Rajasthan weather, which can be pretty tough. I spend a lot of my time in the office or walking the halls to see if everything is okay. We have some open spaces where the kids can run around, and when it’s windy, the sand blows in from the fields nearby. It’s a very practical place. We don't have fancy carpets or expensive art on the walls, just maps and charts that help with the lessons. The teachers here are dedicated and they often stay late to help out. We’ve seen many groups of students pass through our doors over the years. Some days are loud and chaotic, especially during the lunch break when everyone is trying to get to the canteen at once. Other days, like when exams are on, you could hear a pin drop in the corridors. It’s a local school for local people, and we take pride in just being a steady part of Losal. There's always a pot of tea going in the staff room for anyone who needs a break. We just take each day as it comes and try our best.
