S K Auto Battery & Works

If you drive down the Ringas Sikar Road near mile 11, you will find S K Auto Battery & Works right on the side of the highway. It is a dusty spot because of all the trucks and buses flying past all day and night. We focus mostly on batteries and electrical work for vehicles. The shop is full of old battery casings and wires tangled up on the workbench. My hands are usually stained with black marks that don't come off easily, but that’s just part of the job. We get a lot of travelers who get stuck with a dead battery and they look pretty relieved when they see our sign. It is not a very big shop, just enough space for our tools and a few benches to sit on while we wait for a battery to charge. Sometimes we have to work outside in the sun if the vehicle is too large to bring close to the door. The noise from the road never really stops, so we have learned to talk over the loud engines. We don't have a website or any of that stuff, just our name on the board out front. People find us when they need us. It’s a simple life, fixing what is broken and making sure people can get back on their way to Sikar or wherever they are headed. We just do the work and keep the lights on.
