Our operation is based in Kanwarpura, in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. The pin code here is 332001. It is a very rural area. You won't find any big glass buildings here. Our office is just a simple structure near the main village road. We have a big open space where the trucks park. It gets incredibly hot in Sikar, especially in the middle of the day. We usually take a long break when the sun is at its peak. We aren't a big corporate entity with lots of rules. We just have a way of doing things that has worked for a long time. The dust from the desert is everywhere. It gets on the desks and the papers. We just wipe it off and keep going. Most of the guys working here are from the nearby villages. We talk about the crops and the weather while we wait for the next load. We don't have a website or a fancy logo on our shirts. We just have our name on a small board outside. Logistics here is about knowing the drivers and which roads are currently blocked. It is a lot of coordination by phone. We don't use much software. A simple ledger book is usually enough to keep things straight. It is a hard life but a good one for us.
