You can find us on Mandawa Road in Fatehpur Shekhawati. This part of Sikar gets quite dusty and hot, but we’ve got our school running here for the local community. The pin code is 332301. It’s a public school, so we see all kinds of students every day. We have the usual stuff like a playground, some classrooms, and an office where the paperwork gets done. It’s not a fancy private place with air conditioning in every corner. We have fans and big windows. The kids come in their uniforms, and we spend the day going through the textbooks. Fatehpur is an old place with a lot of history, and our school is just one part of the town now. We focus on the basics. Reading, writing, and some sports in the afternoon when it isn’t too hot. The teachers here live in the neighborhood. We don't use big words to describe ourselves. We just open the gates in the morning and do our jobs. Sometimes the cattle walk past the front gate on Mandawa Road, and that’s just how it is here. We have a lot of students from the nearby villages too. They come by bus or walk. It’s a busy place during the term. We try to keep the courtyard clean, but with so many kids, there’s always something to pick up. It’s a real school for real people. We just keep our heads down and teach the kids what they need to know for their futures.
