J.K Plasto

Our place is tucked away at Plot No. 141/3 in the Housing Board Colony. If you know where the Devipura bus depot is, then we are right behind it. You can usually hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. It’s a loud spot, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over time. Being in the colony means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We handle a lot of plastic goods, mostly the kind of stuff you'd use in a kitchen or for storage. The warehouse area gets a bit cramped when a big shipment arrives, and we often have to stack things nearly to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside J.K Plasto sometimes. My cousin helps me out with the heavy lifting and keeping track of what’s on the shelves. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk in the corner with a mountain of papers and a phone that rings more than it should. Sometimes people get lost looking for us because the depot blocks the view, but once they find the turn into the colony, it’s easy enough. We just focus on keeping the stock full and making sure we don't run out of the basic things people ask for. It's a lot of work but we keep the doors open and the shelves loaded.
