Glukem Biocare is based over in the Biotechpark area of Karkapatla village. We are at Survey No. 284 and 321. It’s in the Mulugu Mandalam of the Siddipet district. Being in a biotech park sounds like we have a lot of high-tech stuff, and we do have some labs, but it’s mostly just a regular workplace. We spend a lot of time looking at vials and keeping things clean. It’s a requirement when you’re doing this kind of work. The park itself is a bit isolated. You have to drive a fair way to get to any decent shops or places to eat. Most of us bring our own lunch boxes and eat in the break area. The weather in Siddipet can be quite harsh during the summer months. The ground gets really dry and dusty. Inside, we have to keep the temperature steady for the samples. It's a lot of monitoring screens and writing down numbers in logs. We’ve been here since the park was relatively new. It’s grown a bit since then, but it’s still fairly quiet. Sometimes you see some local wildlife wandering near the fences. It's a different world from the busy city streets. We just focus on the biology and chemistry side of things and try to make sure we don't make mistakes. It’s precise work and it can be tiring on the eyes after several hours. We just take it slow and stay steady until the day is done.
