Maitreya Buddha Foundation

Our foundation is tucked away in Siddharth Nagar, Miyabigha, at the house of Ganesh Manjhi. It is a humble place and that is exactly how we like it. We named ourselves after Maitreya Buddha because we liked the idea of a peaceful future for everyone around here. Miyabigha is the kind of place where everyone knows what their neighbor is up to, so word travels fast about what we are doing. We do not have a big staff or a lot of money, just a lot of heart and a small space to work out of. Most days involve people from the neighborhood dropping in to talk about their troubles or asking for advice on local matters. We try to help with community welfare in whatever way makes sense at the time. Sometimes that means helping someone with a form and other times it is just being a place where people can gather. We are not interested in being a big polished organization. We just want to be a good part of Siddharth Nagar. The building is simple and sometimes we have to fix the roof or the walls, but it serves us well enough. We believe in being kind and helping out where it is needed most, right here in our own backyard. It is just about being good neighbors and doing what is right for the folks living near us.
