Our group is based in Sainagar, over in the Upparapally area of Siddavatam. Kadapa can get incredibly hot during the summer, so we usually try to get our work done early in the morning before the sun gets too high. We are a small self-help group made up of local women from the area. We have a simple room where we store our materials and gather to work. It’s not anything impressive to look at, just a place with some benches and bags of supplies. We don’t follow a strict corporate schedule. We come in, check what needs to be finished, and get started while we catch up on life. Sometimes we bring our children along if there’s no one at home to watch them. It’s a community effort more than a company. We handle our own accounts and try to manage the money as best as we can to help everyone in the group. There’s a lot of laughter and sometimes some arguments, but that’s just how it goes when you’ve known each other forever. We don't have any marketing people or big offices. It’s just us in this corner of Kadapa, trying to make something for ourselves. When the day is done, we lock up and head back to our homes nearby. It’s a small, honest way to make a living.
