Painted Walls

Painted Walls is over on Jail Road, specifically inside the Bojeta Mission Compound. It’s a bit of a different setting than a regular street-side shop because it’s tucked away in the compound. It’s usually quieter here, which is great because it lets us focus. The place always smells a bit like fresh paint and turpentine. We have brushes soaking in jars and buckets of different colors stacked against the walls. It’s definitely a working space, not a showroom. There’s paint splattered on the floor and on some of the old furniture we use. We spend our days mostly working on whatever project is currently on the table, sometimes staying late if the light is good. People find us mostly by word of mouth or by knowing the Mission Compound area. It’s an old part of town with a lot of character, and we like being part of it. The windows are large but a bit dusty, letting in just enough light to see what we’re doing. We don’t have a fancy sign or anything, just our name on the door. It’s just a few of us here, and we’ve known each other for a long time. We mostly just keep to ourselves and get the painting done. It’s a steady kind of life, surrounded by colors and the quiet atmosphere of the compound.
