Arts Commerce & Science College in Ashok Nagar Shrirampur. Ahmednagar is a big district in Maharashtra. Our college is located in a spot that’s easy for students to reach from the surrounding farms and smaller towns. We have the three main streams here, which keeps things busy. It’s a bit different from a high school because the students are older and have more to say. They hang around the hallways and talk loudly between lectures. The building is spread out quite a bit. The Arts department is in one wing and Science has the labs. Those labs always smell a bit like chemicals and old equipment. We have a lot of administrative work to do because there are so many students to keep track of. Shrirampur gets quite dry and dusty in the summer months. We have to wipe down the desks every morning or they get covered in grit. The staff room is a place where we complain about the heat and talk about the upcoming semester exams. It’s not a polished place. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the library is a bit cramped with all the old books. But it works for us. We have old computers that take a long time to start up each morning. The students don't seem to mind much. They just want to get their degrees and find work. We see them coming in on their motorbikes or the local buses. At 413717, this is where we spend our working lives. It’s a lot of grading and attendance sheets.
