Our lab is a small, focused space where we spend most of our time looking at samples and writing down results. The counter where people drop off their forms is a bit high, so we have a small stool for shorter folks. Inside, the air is cool because we have to keep the equipment at the right temperature. You’ll see a lot of glass tubes and small machines sitting on the benches. We don't have a big fancy waiting room, just a couple of stools along the wall for people who need to wait a few minutes. The staff usually wears white coats that have a few ink stains from all the pens we use. We try to get the results out as fast as we can because we know people are waiting on them to figure out what’s wrong. It’s a quiet sort of work, mostly just the hum of the machines and the scratching of pens on paper. Sometimes the street noise from Verinag gets loud, but we just close the door and keep at it. It is a basic, necessary place for the town, and we take the work seriously without making a big fuss about it.
