Mithlesh Namkeen & Sweets

We've been here on Nazar Bagh Road for a while now. Most people know us because we’re right near the Jama Masjid by Bada Kaun. It gets busy around here, especially in the afternoons when the sun starts to go down. We spend most of our mornings getting the snacks ready. There’s always something frying or some sweets being laid out on the counters. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where you can grab some namkeen for tea or a box of sweets for home. My father started things off and now we just keep it going every day. The smells from the kitchen usually let people know we’re open. We try to keep everything fresh because nobody likes stale sev or soggy laddoos. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it hard for customers to park, but they still walk over from the nearby streets. We know a lot of the regulars by name since they’ve been coming here since they were kids. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the demand, especially during festivals when everyone wants something special. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the shelves aren't empty. It gets pretty hot in the back near the stoves, but that’s just how it is. We just want to make sure the taste stays the same as it was years ago. People seem to like it that way.
