Kuvempu Mini Powerloom Textile Park

Our place is over at D B Kallu number 8 in Suvarna Nagara. It is a mini powerloom textile park, which mostly means we have a lot of machines running throughout the day. The sound of the looms is something you just get used to after a while, even if it’s a bit loud for people passing by. We started this setup here because there was enough space for the equipment and the workers. We aren't a massive factory, just a local spot where we focus on weaving and getting the textiles ready. Most of us here have been working with fabric for years, so we just know how the machines behave when they get hot. The area around Suvarna Nagara is where we spend all our time, usually starting early before the sun gets too high. There’s always thread everywhere and we have to sweep the floor a couple of times a day to keep things somewhat clean. It’s a practical workspace, not a showroom. We have stacks of finished cloth waiting in the corners, and we spend a lot of time just fixing broken threads or checking the tension on the looms. It gets pretty warm inside with all the motors going, so we take breaks outside when we can. We just do our work, talk to the neighbors, and try to keep the production going steady every week. That is how we have always done things here.
