Kudremukh Iron Ore Co Ltd.

We are located up here in the Kudremukh hills, specifically in Sector D-07. If you know this part of Chickmaglur, you know it is quite green and gets a lot of rain. The company has been dealing with iron ore for a long time now. It is a big operation. We spend most of our days making sure the machinery is running and the mining parts are moving along. People live right here in the township, so work and home are pretty much the same place for us. It is quiet at night but loud during the shift hours. We see the trucks coming and going all the time. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, especially during the monsoon when everything gets muddy, but we keep at it. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know each other well. It is just a regular life in a mining town. You get used to the red dust on your boots. We don't really do anything fancy here, just the work that needs doing with the ore. It is a government setup, so things move in a certain way, and we just follow the schedule. If you ever drive up this way in Karnataka, you will see the signs for the sector. It is a long road up from the plains, but we like it here well enough. There is a sense of pride in keeping the mountain work going.
