Ambar Trading Co.

Ambar Trading Co. is tucked away right behind the Mariguddi Temple. We are on Mariguddi Road in Town Sagar. It’s a nice spot because the temple is a good landmark for people who haven't visited us before. You can usually hear the temple bells from our shop. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. The shop is full of all sorts of things we trade. It’s not very big, so we have to stack things high. You have to be careful walking through the aisles sometimes. We aren't corporate people with suits and ties. We wear what’s comfortable for moving boxes and talking to locals. Most of our customers are from right here in Town Sagar. We know their names and what they usually need. We don’t have a mission statement or any of those fancy goals. We just want to sell our goods and make a living. The road gets busy during festival times, which can make it hard to get deliveries in. We just deal with it. It’s part of being in this location. We use a simple notebook to keep track of sales. It’s easier than trying to learn a complicated computer system. We like the personal touch of talking to people face to face. If you're walking past the temple, just come around the back and you'll see us. We’re usually there from morning until the sun goes down. Being near the temple gives us some peace even when things are busy.
