Mahesh Industries

Mahesh Industries is located out in Sanaswadi at the B.U. Bhandari Industrial Estate. We take up a few plots here, specifically 95 and 96, and you enter through Gate Number 156-1544. It’s quite a large space compared to some of the smaller shops in town. Being out in Taluka Shirur means we have a bit more room to breathe, but it also means a long commute for some of us. The estate is always humming with activity. We have several sections where different things happen, from raw materials coming in to the finished products being loaded onto trucks. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of metal or engines or people shouting to be heard over the fans. We don't have a lot of office staff; most of us are out there getting our hands dirty. The weather in Sanaswadi can be pretty harsh, very dry and dusty, so we are always cleaning the machines. We’ve been here for a while and have seen many businesses come and go in this estate. Our focus is just on keeping things moving. We don't spend money on fancy signs or marketing materials. We just make sure the work gets done and the gate stays open. It’s a tough environment, but it’s what we know. We drink our tea together during breaks and talk about whatever is happening in the village. It is just a regular industrial life for everyone here. We keep it simple.
