Up in Shirahatti, at 261 Adarkatti, you’ll find our Private Garage. It’s not a big company or anything like that, just a place where we work on whatever comes through the door. The building itself is older, with some cracks in the walls, but it stays cool in the summer which is what matters. We have a few old tools that have been passed down, and they still work better than the new ones you buy today. Most of the people who come here are from the village or the nearby farms. We don’t have a sign that lights up or a waiting room with a TV. You usually just stand around and watch us work or sit on a plastic chair if one is free. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when we have to test an engine. We don’t use computers for much other than checking the occasional part number. Mostly it’s just hands-on work. Sometimes we get stuck on a problem for a few hours and have to scratch our heads, but we usually figure it out eventually. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the district. We just like fixing things and having enough to pay the bills. If you’re ever in Adarkatti, you’ll see the gate open. We are usually there from sunrise until it gets too dark to see. It is what it is.
