Our office is in Bhadravathi, in the Shimoga district. We are located on B.H. Road in the 3rd Ward, near Devarao’s place. It’s a straightforward spot in a town known for its steel and paper. Working for Sobha Developers Ltd. here means we are the local point of contact for the area. Bhadravathi has its own rhythm. We start our day when the town wakes up and we usually finish when the sun goes down. The office is pretty basic. We have some old wooden desks and plenty of files stacked up against the walls. We spend our time checking on building materials and making sure the labor crews are on task. It’s not a fancy job. It involves a lot of dust and loud noises from the construction sites. We also have to handle all the local permissions, which can take forever. The weather in Shimoga can be quite wet during the monsoon, so we have to plan our schedules around the rain. Sometimes we just sit and wait for the clouds to clear. We know the people in the 3rd Ward well. It’s a small-town feeling even if the company name is big. We don't use any corporate jargon or talk about missions. We just talk about bricks, mortar, and deadlines. It’s about getting the houses built so people can move in. We’re just regular folks doing our part in the building trade and staying busy.
