Arya Colors

Our shop, Arya Colors, is tucked away right behind Bishop Cotton School in the Dharampeth area. If you are driving along Kote Road, you just need to look for the District Training Center because we are directly opposite that building. It’s a good spot to be in, though finding a place to park can be a bit of a struggle when the school lets out in the afternoon. We spend our days surrounded by hundreds of paint cans and color swatches. There is always that faint smell of chemicals and fresh pigment in the air, which is something you just get used to after a week. We are not a big fancy showroom; it’s more of a warehouse and a shop mixed together. The floor has plenty of colorful stains from years of mixing and accidental spills. We think it makes the place look like work is actually getting done. Most of our customers are local folks from the neighborhood who need a few liters of paint for a room or a gate. We spend a lot of time chatting with them about what might look good. It is a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy tins and stacking them up. We open early and stay until late most days. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it sound like anything more than what it is. Just a local paint shop in Dharampeth.
